We have two commercial boats for hauling shellfish to our refrigerated trucks. The Pacific skiff is an open walk around 24ft boat with a flush deck. It's all aluminum and cleaned before every trip. The Rozemas is a special boat that is used not only on the farms for hauling product and supplies but also the owners Family fishing boat at times. This boat is made of 1/2 inch aluminum and was built with specifications normally only seen on larger 50ft boats. It has a Yamaha 250hp motor and a small kicker motor for emergencies. There are two large built-in aluminum totes under the deck to keep the shellfish covered. We moor this boat at Seabeck marina and drive it to the Hood Canal beaches from there. It's 28ft long and 9ft wide with a flush deck and kept meticulous. This boat is preferred in poor weather because it has a warm cabin and handles rough water.

Our refrigerated truck is kept well maintained and cleaned daily. This truck is the most critical part of our operation. Trucks must have must have a very good insulation and be refrigerated so the product is quickly cooled, especially during vibrio months when strict temperature controls are followed. We wet store our product on the beach and can move product from the water to the truck in less than fifteen minutes.
Our refrigerated truck is a 2017 Ford F650 Crew Cab. It has all the amenities of a pickup truck inside and can haul considerable weight while not requiring a commercial driver license. The F650 uses a Carrier S8 reefer and has a 24ft long box that cools quickly and continuously to 35F. The main use for this truck is for airport shipments.
Our work crew uses our 2012 Dodge RAM for travel to and from our farm and leased beaches. When transporting shellfish from the beach we use plastic totes filled with ice from our ice machine.
